So far as we know, Harley Quinn won't return to the DC Extended Universe until "Gotham City Sirens," but that doesn't mean she'll be out of the spotlight until then. A new behind-the-scenes photo from "Suicide Squad" finds star Margot Robbie done up in her Quinn gear, staring wistfully out of what appears to be a helicopter window.

Made this on our last day of filming #SuicideSquad (And congrats @margotrobbie)!

The photo appeared on the Instagram of photographer Clay Enos, a longtime collaborator with DC Extended Universe mastermind Zack Snyder. Starting with Snyder’s film adaptation of “Watchmen,” Enos has documented Snyder’s other blockbusters, up to and including “Sucker Punch,” “Man of Steel” and “300: Rise of an Empire.” His past credits also include “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and "Wonder Woman."

"Made this on our last day of filming #SuicideSquad (And congrats @margotrobbie)!" he wrote on the photo. His congratulatory message likely refers to Robbie's recent wedding, though it also applies to the latest movement on her "Gotham City Sirens" film.

Announced in May, “Gotham City Sirens” has been characterized not as a Harley Quinn solo outing or a sequel to “Suicide Squad” sequel, but rather an ensemble film that will feature several of DC Comics’ female heroes and villains. Batgirl and the Birds of Prey have been mentioned, but nothing has been confirmed. However, the title “Gotham City Sirens” references DC Comics series by Paul Dini and Guillem March, which also featured characters like Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

Margot Robbie is set not only to reprise her “Suicide Squad” role as Harley Quinn but also executive produce through her first-look deal with Warner Bros. She reportedly pitched the idea for the film to the studio. Although “Suicide Squad” received largely negative reviews, the David Ayer film surpassed the first “Iron Man” film at the global box office with a total of $318m. Additionally, Warner Bros. is "still developing" a "Suicide Squad" sequel, which will likely feature Harley Quinn once again.

Written and directed by David Ayer, “Suicide Squad” also stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne.
