Slade has directed features including fellow comic book adaptation “30 Days of Night,” plus “Hard Candy” and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Recently, he’s directed multiple episodes of NBC’s acclaimed series “Hannibal.” Showrunner Charlie Huston wrote the first two episodes, and Slade will join him as an executive producer for those those initial installments.
A “Powers” TV show has long been in development at Sony, and was originally slated for FX. In March of this year, it was announced to be the inaugural original series for Sony’s streaming PlayStation Network, and in June, series co-creator Brian Michael Bendis appeared at Sony’s presentation at E3 to announce that the show had a targeted air date of December 2014.
Created by Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, “Powers” is one of the longest-running and most successful creator-owned comics of the current era. Issue #10 of its latest incarnation, “Powers: Bureau,” was released in late May as part of Marvel’s creator-owned line, Icon.
