With just under two years separating us from Star-Lord and his team's second adventure, writer and director James Gunn has revealed that he's completed the first draft of the script for "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." The filmmaker, who also directed and provided the final draft for last year's surprise blockbuster "Guardians of the Galaxy," made the reveal via Twitter last night, but those of you anxiously waiting to learn what the film's subtitle will be will just have to wait a little longer.

So far we've learned just a little about what Gunn has planned for the Guardians' next movie. We know that one or two more characters will make their debut and we know that the film will at least partly revolve around the machinations of Star-Lord's mysterious father. Both Karen Gillan's Nebula and Michael Rooker's Yondu are also slated to return.

Before we get to "Guardians 2," though, Marvel has "Ant-Man," "Captain America: Civil War" and "Doctor Strange" on the way. "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
