News broke earlier last month that director Guillermo del Toro ("Pacific Rim," "Crimson Peak,") would be helming a feature adaptation of the 1980s book series "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark."

The Hollywood Reporter announced today that the adaptation is indeed moving forward and will be co-written by the writers of "The LEGO Movie," Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman. The Hageman's both previously worked on "Hotel Transylvania" and "Ninjago."

The film will be produced by CBS films, and will be based on Alvin Schwartz’s trilogy "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark." The books adapted classic fairy tales and folklore, but with a more gruesome twist.

Guillermo del Toro is also currently working on "Pacific Rim 2," which found a new director yesterday, "Pinocchio" and "Carnival Row."
