"Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn loves chatting with fans on Facebook, usually during downtime on the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" set. These Q&A sessions sometimes tease upcoming developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but a few comments during his recent Facebook Q&A actually focused on the DC movie-verse currently being built by Warner Bros.

In response to a question about his opinion of the DC movies, Gunn revealed that he's been approached to helm DC movies in the past.

"I thought there was some amazing action sequences in 'Man of Steel,' but I haven't seen the other two films," said Gunn, revealing that he hasn't seen "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" or "Suicide Squad." He continued: "I've had opportunities to make DC films, but I haven't said yes to anything, and not sure I would at this time. I've talked before about which projects appeal to me the most IF I was into making one, and it's always Shazam and Metal Men and Swamp Thing and Johan Hex and a few other DC IPs I've enjoyed for a great deal of my life."

Another fan asked Gunn which female character is his favorite, as well as which female character he'd most like to direct. Gunn didn't go with an A-lister for his answer, instead focusing on a fan-favorite. "Maybe Batgirl. Cassandra Cain version." Cain first appeared in 1999 and is currently part of the cast of DC's "Detective Comics" series where she operates under the codename Orphan.

Directed by Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Kurt Russell and more, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" arrives in theaters on May 5, 2017.
