With just a week to go before its May 5 release, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” breaks out a new 1980s-style TV promo, complete with laugh track.

Expanding on the cheesy retro typography that delighted fans in the “Thor: Ragnarok” trailer, this latest spot spoofs the end-of-episode teasers that were a staple of '70s and '80s action-comedies like the "The A-Team.”

“On the next ‘Guardians of the Galaxy…’” the narrator intones before we're treated to a montage of our quipping heroes dodging asteroids and blowing stuff up real good. “Can we put the bickering on hold until after we survive this massive space battle?” asks an exasperated Gamora, trying to reason with her kooky cohorts as they try to steer clear of danger.

A gleaming airbrush-effect font spells out our heroes’ names and informs us that the “special guest star” is Intergalactic Beast. The canned audience laughs at Rocket and coos at Groo. All of this unspools against a suitably rousing yet generic musical backdrop of snare drum fills and a synthetic orchestra.

Written and directed by James Gunn, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and Kurt Russell.
