The Guardians of the Galaxy footage shown to fans at Comic-Con International has generated a lot of buzz surrounding the upco9ming space adventure from Marvel Studios and director James Gunn -- and the latest comments from star Chris Pratt are likely to add to that.

"It's been really great," the actor told IGN about playing Star-Lord. "It's hard to even put into words, especially for someone like me who has the vocabulary of a sixth-grader. It's been a real trip."

"It's so imaginative and so unreal," the Parks and Recreation star added. "We're working really hard and I'm in a bit of a daze, but I just can't wait for people to see what we're doing out there. I think that footage they showed at Comic-Con is very accurate to the movie that we're making. I thought that footage was pretty badass."

Pratt addressed some other Guardians topics, including the film's tone and its need to swing "from silly and comedic to high-stakes drama and action, and everything in between." He also talked about working with an all-star cast including Benicio del Toro and Zoe Saldana, saying that "the novelty of it wears off almost immediately, and it's overtaken by the idea that we've got a ton of fucking work to do."

All in all, Pratt's having a blast on Guardians, and hopes he gets the chance to film even more Star-Lord adventures down the road.

"A lot of it's just going to depend on what people think of the movie and if it makes sense for Marvel to keep making more of them," he said. "But I sure hope it does because I've never done anything like it. I hope they make 10 of them."

Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters Aug. 1, 2014.
