"Guardians of the Galaxy's" Rocket Raccoon and Groot just got a Skottie Young-inspired twist. Marvel released a new animated short featuring the fan-favorite characters, but they look unlike anything that has aired on television or in theaters before.

The short opens with Rocket and Groot blasting through space in pursuit of a bounty. Their chase promptly goes wrong when Rocket and Groot's ship begins to fall apart, even as Groot attempts to repair it from the outside. Nevertheless, Rocket is insistent on continuing, seeing as they could earn one million credits for this bounty. Needless to say, it doesn't go exactly as planned.

For those unfamiliar with his work, Skottie Young is a Marvel Comics artist known for his "Little Marvel" characters. In a series of variant covers as well as a few limited series, Young took a youthful approach to beloved Marvel characters and transformed them into toddlers. These versions of the characters have appeared in "Giant-Sized Little Marvel: AvX," a series of variant covers and more. Additionally, Young wrote and illustrated a "Rocket Raccoon" series, from which the above short drew its influence.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” airs on Disney XD.
