No Flora Colossus gets left behind this Halloween when the Guardians of the Galaxy venture back into the Collector’s lair to rescue their friend Groot. The action will go down at Disneyland Resort’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout ride, which will be retooled this Halloween into Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark. The ride will change over every night, appropriately, once the sun sets.

The events of Monsters After Dark will follow the ending of the Mission Breakout ride, in which Rocket Racoon liberates his teammates from the clutches of the extraterrestrial Collector. Unfortunately, Rocket’s friend Groot is left behind at the adventure’s conclusion. It wasn’t just the Guardians of the Galaxy who were freed, though. The entirety of the Collector’s Vault is running wild.

In Monsters After Dark, parkgoers will be tasked with distracting these escaped aliens so that Rocket and the other Guardians can rescue their friend. One of the Collector’s wards, Apheta, will be along for the ride to offer words of reassurance, but all bets are off with the Collector’s zoo on the loose.

A new song, specifically written for the event, called “Monsters After Dark,” will accompany the ride, the base version of which already heavily integrates music into the experience. The song is performed by Tyler Bates, composer for the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
