Another comic book series has made the jump to TV -- but not in the traditional fashion. A 15-minute live-action pilot for "Grrl Scouts," the indie comic hit created by cartoonist Jim Mahfood, debuted online Thursday, as part of the "Incubator" series of shorts from Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's New Form Digital.

Mahfood's illustrations are used is the pilot, and he's also credited as a writer and creative producer. Mike Diva directed the pilot.

There's no word yet on what may be next for the live-action "Grrl Scouts," but this year marks the 20-year anniversary of the series, which was originally self-published by Mahfood's 40oz Comics before moving to Oni Press and, later, Image Comics.
