Fans of the NBC series Grimm are no strangers to scary monsters and unsettling creatures. Now, unused concept art for Grimm reveals a creepy villain that never appeared on the show.

Concept artist Jerad Marantz released an image on his Instagram of the creature, writing, "Here’s a design for a scorpion man that was written out of an episode for [Grimm]."

Grimm aired on NBC for 6 seasons between 2011 to 2017 and was among several network shows that combined the elements of a police procedural drama with supernatural elements that used fairytales as inspiration. The show peaked at just shy of eight million viewers during Season 3, but had difficulty maintaining said viewership, averaging under six million viewers during its fifth season. The show aired its last episode on March 31, 2017, but has since garnered quite a cult following, finding a second life on streaming services. There were brief rumors the show might produce a spin off, but nothing has materialized.

Created by Stephen Carpenter, Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt, Grimm starred David Giuntoli as Nick Burkhardt, Russell Hornsby as Hank Griffin, Bitsie Tulloch as Juliette Silverton and Silas Weir Mitchell as Monroe. The series is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
