Though he's been focused primarily on his and Mark Millar's Image Comics series "Reborn" for much of 2016, superstar artist Greg Capullo took to Twitter this week to let fans know that he's re-upped his relation ship with DC Comics.

Attention! Just signed my name to a new DC contract. At ease.— Greg Capullo (@GregCapullo) December 22, 2016

While it's not really a surprise, the contract signing has to be a relief to fans who have been eagerly awaiting more news on Scott Snyder and Capullo's teased DC Comics event.

Though the pair kept details close to the vest, Snyder did reveal in October that the project is "very Batman-centric, and very rock n’ roll."

Snyder and Capullo's partnership took shape along with DC Comics' New 52, as the pair helmed DC Comics' relaunched "Batman" series. The two creators worked together on the series for five years, crafting a number of critically and fan-acclaimed stories, reinventing classic characters for DC's then-new continuity, and introducing all-new friends and foes for the Dark Knight.

While he's no longer helming "Batman," Scott Snyder has continued to craft tales set in the hero's world with "All Star Batman," an ongoing series which finds the writer teaming with some of the industry's biggest artists, including John Romita Jr., Jock, Declan Shalvey and more. Whether the teased project with Capullo will take place in the pages of this series or in a separate title remains unknown at this time.
