Warner Bros. "Green Lantern Corps" film has a targeted 2020 release date, but little else is known about the franchise-rebooting movie. With little information to go on, fans have openly wondered if Hal Jordan, Jon Stewart, Guy Gardner or another GL will appear sooner, perhaps in the upcoming "Justice League" film. According to President of Creative Development Greg Silverman, the character(s) won't appear until "Justice League: Part Two" -- maybe.

"Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there's the possibility that he may or may not be in 'Justice League 2,'" Silverman told Entertainment Weekly. "For now, we felt that we were introducing enough characters that the best possible place we could put Green Lantern is some introduction in 'Justice League 2,' or barring that, a movie after... [Green Lantern] is an incredible character. He's actually multiple incredible characters. There's real opportunity there."

Of course, it's no secret that Warner Bros.' first stab at a Green Lantern movie was less than successful, with the Ryan Reynolds-helmed film being widely regarded as a critical and box office failure. Silverman realizes this, and promises fans the studio's next incarnation of the hero will be handled much better.

"We didn't do a great job on that first Green Lantern movie," Silverman admits. "This is a character who deserves to be treated in the same way that Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman are being treated now, which is with great reverence. I guess I can say to the Green Lantern fans: if they can be patient with us, I think they'll be really happy."
