Deadline Hollywood Daily broke the news of Christoph Waltz’s casting as the villain in the film. No official announcement has been made yet, but the actor would appear to be locked in. Waltz can be see in “Inglorious Basterds.” The role was previously meant to go to Nicholas Cage, who dropped from the film when an agreement could not be reached.
Starring Seth Rogen and Jay Chou, release date: December 17th, 2010
Empire asked director Sam Mendes for a status update on the film. He told them, “I’ve seen a script and it’s very good. We’re a little further down the road than when I last spoke to you.” Adapting “Preacher” into a two-hour film must be no easy task as the last time Empire spoke to Mendes was last November.

Several sites are pointing to director Micheal Bay’s official site, where the webmaster says, “[Bay] will be meeting later this week with Steven Spielberg, and Ehren Kruger to discuss ideas for ‘Transformers 3.’ By the end of the week he should have an idea if ‘Transformers 3’ will hit your local cineplex in the summer of 2011 or 2012.” Gird yourselves now for the robot apocalypse.
