Facing some tough competition, Fox's "Gotham" slid slightly in the ratings with its Season 2 premier.

For the return of Jim Gordon and company, the show pulled in around 4.49 million viewers for a 1.6 share in the key 18 to 49 demo, according to TV By The Numbers. That had the drama getting beat on the networks by the likes of "The Voice," "Dancing With The Stars" and "The Big Bang Theory" not to mention perpetual juggernaut "Monday Night Football" on cable.

Those numbers are also down from "Gotham's" Season 1 finale, which brought in 4.9 million views in a significant increase from its late season numbers. While those numbers are a far cry from the 8 million viewers that took a shot on the show with its debut last year. Still, with Fox in fourth place amongst the networks these days, it's unlikely that these numbers will hurt the DC Entertainment drama provided they remain steady as the season moves along.
