New photos from the Season 3 premiere show a furious Captain Barnes, Gordon and Vale working together, and Cobblepot stealing the show.
Fox has released new images from the Season 3 premiere of "Gotham” that showcase Jim Gordon, Fish Mooney, Oswald Cobblepot, Harvey Bullock and more. Judging from the images, the episode's title, "Mad City: Better to Reign in Hell," is an apt one.
Here we see Captain Barnes has been release from the hospital following his fight with Azrael last season, but from the looks of that crutch he isn't fully recovered. That’s more than can be said for James Gordon, however, considering the ear-chewing he appears to be receiving.
In what looks to be a press conference at Gotham City Police Department, Oswald Cobblepot in his element as the center of attention, putting on a show for journalists, including Valerie Vale (played by Jamie Chung), who’s investigating the weird experiments of Hugo Strange. We can also see the first photo of Vale with Gordon, who will reluctantly team up with her to catch Fish Mooney.
Of course, they may have their work cut out for them: Toward the end of Season 2 fans learned that Strange had “modified Mooney’s DNA in order to bring her back to life,” which had the side effect of giving her certain “abilities.” No doubt Gordon, Vale and possibly even Cobblepot will learn what those are soon enough.
Finally, there’s Selina Kyle, who looks pretty skittish after she was forced to pledge her allegiance to Firefly in the last season. Her relationship with Bruce -- and, invariably the Court of Owls -- in Season 3 is sure to be an interesting one.
Gordon works in a monster-ridden Gotham as a bounty hunter and seeks to find answers about the Indian Hill escapees, and why their powers appear to be killing them. Meanwhile, Bruce’s doppelganger roams the streets, and Barbara and Tabitha open a new nightclub called The Sirens in the all-new “Mad City: Better to Reign in Hell…” season premiere episode of "GOTHAM."
