Ivy Pepper, now portrayed by Maggie Geha, appears to be thrust into the forefront of "Gotham's" plot in the third season of the Fox drama. In a new behind-the-scenes video, titled  "Ivy Pepper Is Reborn," the cast and crew share a bit of background, along with what's in store for the new Ivy.

"Ivy and Selina are pretty much best friends," says Carmen Bicondova, who plays Selina Kyle. "But, Selina is working for Fish and understands how dangerous Fish's entourage truly is, but Ivy doesn't listen."

"Little Ivy has been changed," Geha explains. "She's been morphed into Big Ivy via one of Professor Strange's monster creations." Geha expands upon how this transformation has affected the character, saying, "Ivy doesn't really know what happened to her. She doesn't even really know if it's a dream, but she likes it."

"She's a little bit more disturbed, she's a little more evil, and she's also going to have the ability to seduce to get what she wants," adds Executive Producer Ken Woodruff.

It's all part of the dramatic shift that turns her into the Ivy most audiences are familiar with. "She will become the Poison Ivy that we know from the comics," says Ben McKenzie, who plays Detective Jim Gordon.

"Gotham" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
