“Gotham” Renewed for Second Season

Fox has picked up the Batman prequel drama “Gotham” for a second season.

The Hollywood Reporter says the network renewed the freshman series from Warner Bros. Television on the back of its strong ratings in key demographics. “Gotham” pulls in an average 10.6 million viewers with a 4.2 rating in the adults 18-49 range. Its series premiere alone scored a 6.0 rating, outperforming both “The Blacklist” and “Scorpion” to give Fox its highest-rated fall drama debut since 2000. As for the season as a whole, “Gotham” takes the No. 1 broadcast drama spot among men 18-49 and 18-34. Its live-plus-seven ratings, which add DVR viewings from the week following an episode’s premiere, give it the biggest post-three-day ratings gain of any broadcast drama ever with +0.9.

Starring Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as his partner Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne, and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald “The Penguin” Cobblepot, “Gotham” airs Mondays at 8/7c on Fox. Watch a preview of the next episode, “What the Little Bird Told Him”, here.
