Move over Alfred, Bruce Wayne's got a new mentor in town. Deadline has reported that actor Raymond J. Barry has landed a recurring role on Fox' "Gotham," one that will see him playing a major role in young Bruce's (David Mazouz) life. Barry will play a temple Shaman, described as "a mysterious figure who enters Bruce’s life with the stated intention of unlocking the potential of his own mind." The Shaman's real intentions, though, will remain a mystery.

Barry previously appeared in the film "Training Day" and has had roles on TV series like "The X-Files," "Alias," "Cold Case," "Justified" and "Ray Donovan."

Following a winter hiatus, "Gotham" will return to Fox on Monday, January 16 with a new episode titled "Ghosts." That episode will see the return of Cameron Monaghan's character Jerome, who was previously thought dead. New photos also tease that Jerome may be closer than ever to becoming the Joker.
