"Goosebumps" director Rob Letterman is reportedly set to board "Dungeons & Dragons," the Warner Bros. adaptation of the popular role-playing game.

The news comes from The Tracking Board, which contends the fantasy adventure will center "on a warrior and his band of mystical creatures – including a half-dragon and a cunning gnome – as they embark on a dangerous journey to find a mythical treasure."

That premise would certainly seem to sync with comments made earlier this year by producer Roy Lee, who characterized the feature as "a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’-tone movie in a Tolkien-like universe." David Leslie Johnson (“Wrath of the Titans”) wrote the script.

Although no roles have been cast, The Tracking Board reports producers want a "Vin Diesel-type" for the lead role, while pointing out that Diesel is a big "D&D" fan.
