NBC goes behind the scenes of "Heroes Reborn" with a three-minute teaser that includes new footage from the 13-episode miniseries and interviews with creator Tim Kring and cast members new and old.

"'Heroes Reborn' is a reboot of the original," Kring explains. "The end of the original series, Claire, the cheerleader, outed the fact that these people with powers exist. She and her father had had this huge argument that the world would not accept these people, so when we come back five years later, sure enough, her father was right."

Premiering Sept. 24, the revival is set a year after a terrorist attack decimated Odessa, Texas, famous as the former home of Claire Bennet. Blamed for the event, people with extraordinary abilities — they’re called evolved humans, or “EVOs” – are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives.

"Heroes Reborn" stars franchise veterans Jack Coleman, Masi Oka, Greg Grunberg, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Cristine Rose, joined by a cast of newcomers that includes Zachary Levi, Kiki Sukezane, Robbie Kay, Danika Yarosh, Judith Shekoni, Ryan Guzman, Henry Zebrowski, Gatlin Green, Dylan Bruce, Francesca Eastwood and Nazneen Contractor.
