We know The Gifted will feature such Marvel Comics characters as Polaris, Blink and Thunderbird, but star Stephen Moyer won't rule out the possibility of cameo by a fixture of Fox's X-Men film franchise.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight during Fox's upfront presentation in New York City, Moyer was asked whether his wife, and fellow True Blood alum, Anna Paquin might reprise her role as Rogue for the upcoming drama.

"Well, obviously, she's in the X-Men universe, obviously she could possibly [join]," he said. "I don't quite understand the timeline, because obviously the X-Men timeline is very, very specific, so never say never, but ... I don't want to say anything that gets me into trouble."

Developed by Matt Nix (Burn Notice), The Gifted follows a family whose life is turned upside down when they learned their teenage children possess extraordinary abilities. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, they turn to an underground network of mutants for help and must fight to survive.

It seems like the type of show that would be a great fit for a character like Rogue. Similar to how the character was introduced in 2000's X-Men, the show's teenagers not only have to traverse the perils of high school, but also come to terms with their extraordinary abilities.

Airing Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT this fall on Fox, The Gifted stars Stephen Moyer as Reed Strucker, Amy Acker as Caitlin Strucker, Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz/Eclipse, Coby Bell as Jace Turner, Emma Dumont cast as Lorna Dane/Polaris, Jamie Chung as Blink/Clarice Fong and Blair Redford as John Proudstar/Thunderbird, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Strukcer and Percy Hynes White as Andy Strucker.
