Award-winning actor Paul Giamatti is currently in talks to portray The Rhino in Marc Webb's "Amazing Spider-Man 2"

It seems the rogues gallery of Marc Webb's "Amazing Spider-Man 2" isn't done growing just yet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, award-winning actor Paul Giamatti is currently in negotiations to play Webb's version of The Rhino. THR also reports Felicity Jones, who was rumored last year to be in the running for the lead in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", is in talks for an unspecified role.

The Rhino brings the film's villain count to two, joining Jamie Foxx's Electro. While dual villains in a Spider-Man film is far from unusual ("Spider-Man 3" had both Venom and the Sandman), Electro and The Rhino's inclusion in the film is certainly intriguing. Both were in one of the most recent incarnations of the Sinister Six: a team numbering six of Spider-Man's greatest foes. While two villains is a far cry from six, the possibility certainly exists that Webb is starting to build the iconic super-villain team to take on the Amazing Spider-Man.

If cast, Giamatti and Jones would join returning cast members Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone along with fellow newcomers Foxx, Shailene Woodley and Dane DeHaan. "Amazing Spider-Man 2" is set for a May 2, 2014 release.
