The promo doesn't reveal much of the story involving the introduction of Gabriel Luna as Ghost Rider, but it succinctly conveys that "Vengeance" is coming. We see a few quick shots of the series regulars, along with a black muscle car with flaming wheels and a blazing engine. "When the rider burns you," the voiceover frantically exclaims, "he burns your soul."

The fourth season will see Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) back in the field tracking down allies, now that he is presumed dead and no longer the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Ghost Rider -- the Robbie Reyes version of the Marvel Comics character -- is one of these potential partners.

With the new season comes a move to the 10 p.m. time slot, which Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb told CBR will allow the drama to take on "just a little bit more edge."

“The show is pretty violent for something at 9 o’clock," he said, "but when we get to 10 o’clock, we’re going to be just a little hair of something that I think people are going to really enjoy.”

Also starring Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Henry Simmons, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns Sept. 20 on ABC.
