COMIC LEGEND:

Ben Templesmith almost did a Ghost Rider: The End series for Marvel

STATUS:

I'm Going With False

Art collector Mike Rice has a collection of awesome pages by the great Ben Templesmith available to see at ComicArtFans...

Very impressive stuff. Well, over the years (the pages are about a decade old), these pages have been explained as a pitch by Templesmith for a Ghost Rider: The End series. You know, Marvel has those miniseries where they show the future of a comic book character and thus "the end" of that character's life.

I asked Ben about it, and he explained that these were just some sample pages he did for Marvel. As he noted:

No, it's not true whatsoever. All I ever did was a few sample pages, many many years ago and people seem to have extrapolated from that sadly. Which is flattering, but no, I never "nearly did" any Ghost Rider! In fact I never heard anymore about it from anyone alas.

How could you not hearNo, it's not true whatsoever. All I ever did was a few sample pages, many many years ago and people seem to have extrapolated from that sadly. Which is flattering, but no, I never "nearly did" any Ghostrider! In fact I never heard anymore about it from anyone alas. back from pages like that?!

Anyhow, thanks to Ben for the information and thanks to Mike Rice for sharing such amazing artwork with everyone!
