Mamoru Oshii, director of the "Ghost in the Shell" anime films, gives the live-action adaptation -- and star Scarlett Johansson -- his seal of approval in this new featurette.

"Scarlett Johansson playing Motoko from beginning to end has gone above and beyond my expectations for the role," the filmmaker says. "I'm sure this will be the most gorgeous film in the series so far."

The video also includes new footage from the film, as well as comments from Johansson, director Rupert Sanders and executive producer Michael Costigan. "The scale of it is so baked in from the very beginning," Costigan says. "It's very true to the anime."

Based on Masamune Shirow's cyberpunk manga, as well as Oshii's subsequent anime, the live-action film stars Johansson as The Major, a cyborg-human hybrid who leads Section 9, a task force assigned to stop cyber-criminals. Now they face a new enemy devoted to destroying Hanka Robotic's artificial intelligence technology.
