Hot off the release of the "Injustice 2" announcement trailer, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon have been hyping the highly-anticipated video game sequel, revealing some new features and its possible influence on the overall DC Universe.

"When I was a kid, my dream would have been for them to do a DC fighting game," Johns told Rolling Stone Magazine. "To me, it's a giant creative cycle. You have comics that influence the games, and then Arkham influences the look of a show like 'Gotham.' It just goes round and round and round."

Addressing a possible connection between the visual aesthetic of Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman" immensely-popular first game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us," Johns was coy. "Some of it's true, and some of it might be coincidence...But yeah, absolutely [it could]."

For those confused by all the armored costumes in the announcement trailer, Boon offered a bit of an explanation. Referring to the costumes, Boon said the game will include "...a vast, vast array of what we're calling gear."

Boon added, "There are thousands and thousands of pieces for, let's say, the Flash...You are in the constant process of making your version of the Flash."
