In a quick case of revolving doors, one Harry Potter actor has stepped in to replace another in the upcoming FX vampire thriller The Strain, based on the bestselling novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan.

David Bradley has replaced John Hurt on the new series, stepping into the role of Professor Abraham Setrakian, a Holocaust survivor who runs a pawn shop in Spanish Harlem. When a vampiric virus begins to spread , Setrakian becomes a key player in the fight against the epidemic.

Bradley, recently seen as the vicious Walder Frey on HBO's Game of Thrones, is just the latest impressive name on an already impressive cast list for The Strain. Other actors on the show include Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin and Kevin Durand.

Given a 13-episode order just this week, the series is executive produced by del Toro and Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel), who serves as showrunner. Del Toro co-wrote the pilot with Hogan and will direct.
