Woo. What a finale, right? Game of Thrones is over until next season, which is coming… at some point. But don’t worry, we’ve got some ideas about where it could be going based on that stunning finale we saw. Of course, this is assuming you watched the finale, which you should have, because we’re going to spoil the heck out of it - and try our best to spoil the next season as well.

As we all saw at the end of this episode, the White Walkers' Blue Eyes White Dragon burst the Wall wide-open, allowing White Walkers and their wights to burrow into Westeros, ready to kill and kill and bring the dead back, and kill some more. So what can we look forward to next season? Well, probably a lot of that -- white walkers being awesome and having a freaking ice dragon wight, possibly even killing some beloved characters and bringing them back as dark creatures of ice.

The White Walkers

Game of Thrones The Nights King and the White Walkers

Now, there’s some speculation that the war with the White Walkers will be a long thing -- ie, there’ll be lots of small battles against them, with Winterfell trying to hold them back, and the warm-blooded being pushed back -- but honestly? That seems pretty unlikely. While we’ll most likely see some small battles, the big fight between the humans and the Others -- the official name for the White Walkers -- won’t happen until the end of the show. Or, at least, that’s our guess.

Oh, and it’ll probably involve Azor Ahai. Don’t know who Azor Ahai is? He’s the warrior who fought back against the Others in the Long Night, the first time the White Walkers attacked. He used a weapon called Lightbringer, forged with his wife’s soul after he plunged it into her chest. One day he’ll come again, the "Prince That Was Promised." Although... that might be a mistranslation of "Princess That Was Promised." There are a number of prophecies surrounding the supposed Azor Ahai, and it looks like all of them have been fulfilled by Dany.

So get ready to see Dany, using her dragons, to defeat the heck out of the White Walkers. Most likely her new paramour (and nephew!), Jon Snow aka Aegon Targaryen, will be riding along beside her.

Dany And Jon's Romance

Jon and Dany Dragonstone Game of Thrones 7.3

As for Jon Snow? We expect him to reunite with Ghost (please?) and to defend the North, while also meeting a ton of backlash for his subservience to Daenerys Targaryen. Oh, and of course, he’s going to learn that his true name is Aegon Targaryen and that he and Dany have engaged in that activity most beloved of Westeros’ royalty -- incest. How’s he going to take it? God only knows. And George RR Martin, but most of us will have a better chance of finding out from God then from Martin.

Speaking of incest, there’s been a lot of talk this past season about how Dany can’t get pregnant, how she’ll never be able to get pregnant, and how pregnant pregnancy preg pregnant. That is all a bit weird… unless you consider it’s a set-up for her getting pregnant next season. Aw, her baby will be the real song of ice and fire!

Of course, if Jon Snow and Dany do end up more than “close” -- maybe even becoming wed -- there’s a chance that someone else will need to take over Winterfell, most likely Sansa, with Arya as her ersatz Hand.

 Who Will Die?

Jaime and Cersei from Game of Thrones season six

There’s going to be a fight at Winterfell. It almost definitely will be the setting of the first huge fight against the White Walkers, if not the last one. It’s where Jon Snow is bringing all of the armies, it’s where Jaime is headed to (with armies, presumably, in tow). It’s where the armies of man shall make their final stand. And most of them aren’t going to make it.

If Jaime makes it to the end of the show, it will be a miracle. Brienne, Podrick, Gendry -- there are so many beautiful, powerful characters who might die. What if the Hound dies before he gets his revenge?

Who knows who might die? Well, aside from Cersei. We know Cersei is going to die. More on that later.

While Arya and Sansa are (most likely?) going to make it through, there’s a chance we could see one of them fall. We might even see Bran or Jon fall in battle. Heck, Jon’s died before, and we've already seen one Three-Eyed Raven die. But before Bran dies -- if he dies -- he’s definitely going to warg into a dragon. Right? He has to! Think about it: some heroes are being hammered down, the dragons unable to help, and then boom! Dragon Bran comes in, being a big ole hero. If this doesn’t happen, why the heck have we been watching this show all this time?

Speaking of other awesome things, we’re finally going to see Cersei die. This is a certainty, which we’ll get to in a second. Before that, though, her and Jaime are obviously at odds. It might be interesting to see, if Jaime is joining the North, a confrontation between him and Bran, since -- ya know -- it’s Jaime’s fault Bran can’t walk. But in addition to that, this will make a reunion between Jaime and Tyrion possible, and a possible redemption arc for the Lannister line. (Oh, and Gendry and Arya might reunite! Imagine how cute that’ll be?)

But there will be no redemption for Cersei. Alone at King’s Landing, she will most likely turn into an even darker version of herself, perhaps even wedding Euron Greyjoy -- ya know, the weird fish-guy who has Yara? He’s definitely going to be up to no good next season, though we don’t know enough about him to predict what he’ll be doing. Him and Cersei together would make an interesting, if horrible, combination, and that’d be a fun thing to watch, if your description of fun is very, very loose.

Cersei's Prophecy

Cersei crowned on the Iron Throne

Regardless of what Cersei does, she’s invariably going to end up dying. There’s a prophecy - the same one that said she would have three children, and end up watching all of them die. The prophecy states that the life will be choked out of her by the valonqar -- a High Valyrian word which means little sibling. Some -- including Cersei -- believe this to be Tyrion, but it’s honestly more likely to be Arya, who has had Cersei on her list for a long time. Other young siblings that could choke her to death include Dany, Jaime (her twin, but born after her… although the prophecy does specify hands and he doesn’t quite have two), The Hound, Jon Snow, and almost everyone, honestly. There’s a lot of younger siblings on this show. Our hope is for it to be Gendry, though, the younger bastard of Robert Baratheon, the man she had killed. If not him, then definitely Arya.

Heck, it might even be Lady Stoneheart -- the book character long rumoured to be in the show. She’s Catelyn Stark, post-resurrection by the Lord of Light. She’s a younger sibling and has plenty of reasons to hate Cersei. She hasn’t shown up yet, but there’s still time for one cool, nice zombie. Of course, even with Cersei dead, there’ll still be a traitorous Euron to deal with, plus the whole army of the dead. So prepare for a bunch of fights -- some big, some small, some enormous. Hopefully Euron will be dealt with by Theon (AKA Reek) who might finally get his redemption. There’s a chance that, in his pursuit of justice for his sister, he might end up dying, but at least he’ll be a hero. That’s what we’re hoping for. Euron’s going to die, most likely, although we could also see him weaseling his way into the end game and helping fight the White Walkers, therefore “proving” himself enough to allow him to live.

Of course, he might not have that long to live. This Winter seems like it will be particularly intense, and with it will come a completely changed Westeros. We already saw the first snowflakes fall on King’s Landing, but with this winter, everything will change. We’ve seen sun and spring and green forever, but now it’s moved to darkness, death and destruction. The world of Westeros -- not just the Kings and Queens -- has changed.

There’s a bunch of other things that we’re going to see -- new places, more dragon fights, white walkers, death and tortures, a new world changed by winter.

Because, see, what Ned warned us about at the beginning was true. Winter has finally come. And we can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next.
