Newly surfaced character breakdowns suggest that Fox's Gambit is casting multiple major roles with an eye toward sequels.

The descriptions, which arrive courtesy of That Hashtag Show, seem to confirm that the X-Men spinoff is still casting the female lead, Gambit's love interest Bella Donna Boudreaux. Although it was reported in 2015 that Spectre co-star Léa Seydoux had been cast opposite Channing Tatum, it would appear that between multiple delays and changes in both director and script, she's no longer attached to the project.

A member of the Assassins Guild who shares a long and complicated history with Gambit (they've been at times both lovers and enemies), Bella Donna -- referred to as "Mariya" in the breakdowns -- is described as "a Parisian glamour girl." The role requires sequel options.

Likewise, the breakdowns also call for "an appealing entrepreneur with an unexpected dark side" could appear in multiple films. The safe money, of course, is that this is Dr. Nathaniel Essex, aka Mr. Sinister, whom Fox is rumored to be eyeing Daniel Craig to play.

The character descriptions obtained by The Hashtag Show go on and on, and point to multiple members of the Thieves and Assassins guilds, including additional roles that require sequel options. However, one in particular, for a male of any ethnicity standing 5-foot-6 or shorter, stands out, as it describes the character as "Puck-like,"which could be a reference to the mischievous sprite from A Midsummer Night's Dream, or to the fan-favorite Alpha Flight member. The full character breakdowns can be found on The Hashtag Show.

Directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) and starring Channing Tatum, Gambit is scheduled for release on Feb. 14, 2019.
