Batman v Superman star Gal Gadot is reportedly in early negotiations for director Timur Bekmambetov's Ben-Hur.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Wonder Woman actress would play Esther, the slave with whom the title character (Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston) falls in love. Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal is in the running for Pontius Pilate.

The Paramount Pictures/MGM film is described as both a remake of the 1959 classic and an adaptation of Lew Wallace's 1880 novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ.

The cast also includes Toby Kebbell as Beh-Hur's former friend Messala, who sells him into slavery, and Morgan Freeman as Ben-Hur's chariot race trainer. Shooting is scheduled to begin early next year for a Feb. 26, 2016, release.
