G.I. JOE: RETALIATION
Apparently, Joe fans are going to have to wait nine more months to see “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” as the film has been pushed to a March 29, 2013 release date. An unnamed studio executive cited the release date change to convert the film to 3D, a statement corroborated by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Twitter. The actor said the film team will be “designing new scenes to enhance 3D,” implying the cast and crew may be back on set to shoot some new scenes.
Spinoff Online has a list of some possible reasons for the delay of the film, including my personal favorite, “Paramount Studios is run by Cobra.”
Also, the Cobra Special Forces Facebook page has posted this new image of a Cobra trooper. Fun stuff.

Trank continues to further set himself in the realm of geek culture films with development deals on “Fantastic Four,” the “Spider-Man” spin-off film “Venom,” and the Warner Bros. adaptation of DC Comics’ “Red Star.”
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that “The Dark Knight Rises” star Gary Oldman has signed a deal to star alongside Joel Kinnaman in the upcoming remake of “Robocop.” Oldman’s character, Norton, is the scientist who creates Robocop and is torn between “the ideas of the machine trying to rediscover its humanity and the callous needs of a corporation.”
