Dinosaurs, Avengers and Mad Max are joining forces to bring you one of the biggest summers at the movies ever.

Some of the biggest -- and hopefully the best -- movies the sci-fi, comic book and action genres have to offer will be jockeying for your box office dollar. With "Furious 7" unofficially kicking off the seasons, here is a breakdown (by release date) of the blockbusters you need to see.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" (May 1)

The biggest comic book movie of the year reunites Earth's Mightiest Heroes to battle the most genocidal A.I. ever made, Ultron (James Spader) Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch join our heroes for the sequel, which promises to melt our brains thanks to the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster armor fight.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" (May 15)

Set 30 years after 'Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome,' Tom Hardy replaces Mel Gibson in the lead role, as "Mad" Max Rockatansky. He must lead a woman named Furiosa (Charlize Theron) across a deadly post-apocalyptic desert. If the skull-faced guy with the flame-belching cars doesn't kill Max, the sand tornadoes probably will.

"Poltergeist" (May 22)

Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris and Rosemarie DeWitt headline this reboot of the classic horror film from producer Steven Spielberg. Like the original, the remake once again centers on a suburban family tormented by vengeful spirits and one very creepy clown.

"Tomorrowland" (May 22)

Brad Bird's follow-up to "Ghost Protocol" stars George Clooney as a reclusive inventor/owner of a bathtub rocket, who helps a young girl get to a place inspired by Disney's theme park. Bird and co-writer Damon Lindelof are keeping a tight lid on this film's Mystery Box, which makes us want to see this sci-fi film even more.

"San Andreas" (May 29)

Following "Furious 7," Dwayne Johnson returns to theaters to fight an earthquake. Rather, the earthquake, as Johnson's skilled helicopter pilot must save his daughter (Alexandra Daddario) from the ruins of San Francisco.

"Jurassic World" (June 12)

Apparently no one in the "Jurassic Park" universe learned from the cautionary tales of the first three movies. This latest sequel finds a fully-operational park, complete with a brand new species of dinosaur (the Indomitus Rex) primed to devour all attendees. And if that weren't enough, Chris Pratt stars as a "raptor whisperer" of sorts. Can't. Wait.

"Inside Out" (June 19)

Pixar's latest film focuses both on a girl named Riley, as she deals with a stressful cross-country move, and the physical personifications of her emotions (voiced by Amy Poehler, Lewis Black and more).

"Terminator: Genysis (July 1)"

Is the fifth "Terminator" film finally the charm? It has to better than "Salvation," right?

This time, "Thor: The Dark World" director Alan Taylor takes on Skynet and its army of terminators -- with Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising multiple versions of his iconic role. The plot finds a young Sarah Connor ("Game of Thrones'" Emilia Clarke) changing history, with her would-be protector from the first film, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) in tow. Somehow, this involves Arnold's silver-haired Terminator using himself as a missile to kill a helicopter. Which may be the best sentence ever.

"Ant-Man" (July 17)

Marvel's follow-up to "Age of Ultron" will shake things up by going small. Really small.

Paul Rudd stars as Scott Lang, a former criminal who finds a shot at redemption when he meets genius inventor Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and gains possession of a suit that lets him shrink his body and control insects. If early word surrounding the film's very inventive action scenes is any indication, Marvel has yet another hit franchise on deck.

"Pixels" (July 24)

When alien invaders use classic arcade game characters like Pac-Man to destroy our world, who ya' gonna call? Adam Sandler and Kevin James, obviously.

They're joined by Peter Dinklage and "Frozen's" Josh Gad, working together to stop the alien armada, which unleashes Space Invaders and Donkey Kong upon the masses.

"Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation" (July 31)

Those cool face masks are back, and so is Tom Cruise, as his intrepid agent Ethan Hunt accepts his fifth "Mission," which finds him battling an "anti-IMF" team known as the Syndicate. Exploding motorcycles and hanging off flying planes ensue -- oh just take all our money already!

"Fantastic Four" (Aug 7)

Fox's long-awaited reboot of Marvel's First Family hails from "Chronicle" director Josh Trank, and is inspired by the Ultimate run from the comics. The film casts Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell as the titular heroes, who undergo a very Chris Nolan-esque introduction to their superpowers.
