Fringe and Bates Motel might be at opposite ends of their television life cycles, but they're both using a familiar marketing device to get viewers' attention: the intriguingly creepy poster.

Fox's Fringe is coming to an end Friday, and the network wants to draw people in. TVLine scored the exclusive reveal of the poster, which shows one of the Observes having what looks like a pretty bad day.

The two-hour finale consists of a pair of episodes: The first is called "Liberty," and Fox explains that “the Fringe team engages a desperate plan as Olivia embarks on a dangerous and otherworldly journey into the unknown.” The second, “An Enemy of Fate,” leads the show's heroes to “face off against the Observers in one final and extraordinary battle for the fate of mankind.” By the looks of this image, the Observers don't walk away unscathed.

On the other end of the spectrum there is A&E's upcoming new Psycho-inspired thriller Bates Motel, which has debuted five posters, again courtesy of TVLine, that hint at some of the show's more nefarious, possibly Lynchian, qualities.

Bates Motel, starring Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga is set to debut March 18.
