‘Friends’ Cast to Reunite For NBC Special

The entire cast of “Friends” will reunite next month, not for the long-rumored movie, but rather to pay tribute to director James Burrows.

TVLine reports NBC will celebrate the career of the television director, who recently helmed his 1,000th episode, with a two-hour special the casts of such Burrows series as “Taxi,” “Cheers,” “Frasier,” “Will & Grace,” “The Big Bang Theory” and, yes, “Friends.” All six stars — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer — will be on hand for the tribute.

The co-creator of “Cheers,” Burrows has worked in television since the 1970s, directing episodes of such classic shows as “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Laverne & Shirley.”

The NBC special will be filmed later this month to air Sunday, Feb. 21, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
