Though it's been teased for months now, the heavy CGI nature of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" means the comic book sequel will get worked on right up until its summer release. And now the movie has added an important late addition to its cast.

Today at WonderCon executive producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller revealed that comedian and actor Fred Armisen will provide the voice for alien warlord Krang in the upcoming movie. "It was a very hard character to cast," Form said before saying that "SNL" alum and "Portlandia" star is brining his own feel to the character this very week.

"Thanks to the genius of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, we have so much to pull from in the canon," the producer said of their overall approach to the film, nothing that almost every character they ever wanted to use from the comics made it into the sequel.

Whether the vocal style Armisen uses for the character will be the croaky register of the original '80s or the more flat affectation of the current Nickelodeon series is anybody's guess.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" opens June 3.
