Frank Miller's cover for January's "Detective Comics" #27 has been unveiled, courtesy of a segment in the Christmas Eve installment of DC Entertainment weekly video series "DC All Access."

In the segment, DC Entertainment co-publisher Dan DiDio calls Miller's Catwoman illustration something he's really excited about, and "beautiful." The cover, one of several variants for the issue, marks a return of Miller to the Batman world, territory he's strongly associated with due to revered stories like "The Dark Knight Returns" and "Batman: Year One."

"Detective Comics" #27, an oversized issue commemorating the first appearance of Batman in 1939's original "Detective Comics" #27, is scheduled for release on Jan. 8. The main story, by John Layman and Jason Fabok, kicks off the upcoming "Gothtopia" storyline; other contributors to the issue include Scott Snyder, Sean Murphy, Paul Dini and Brad Meltzer.
