During a recent interview, Fox Television president Gary Newman said that he would be open to seeing any one of "Gotham's" numerous villains getting his or her own spinoff show in the future.

Newman, who was being interviewed at the Television Critics Association by IGN, said that, "We're really happy with the creative on Gotham this year. We thought the Rise of the Villains has been great, and it feels like a world that has many, many stories to tell."

Newman also said, "We haven't had any conversations with Warners about whether or not they'd want to do a spinoff series. I think that would be an issue for DC. It isn't quite clear to me that they'd be ready to do that, but it's a good idea."

Clearly Newman has thought of the possibilities of a spinoff, but nothing has officially been put into motion by Warner Bros. or DC Entertainment yet. So far, "Gotham" has introduced the Penguin, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, the Scarecrow, even Cat Woman. Which of these characters is the most deserving of their own spinoff series?

"Gotham" returns to Fox Monday, February 29 at 8/7C.
