Fox isn't letting writer/producer Simon Kinberg slip through its fingers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kinberg and his company Genre Films have signed a new three-year, first-look deal that will include the expansion of the studio's X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises.

"I have a lot of ideas on how to build those brands and do what everybody is thinking of these days: Be like Marvel," said Kinsberg, who's already writing and producing X-Men: Days of Future Past and the Fantastic Four reboot. "I want to be able to build stories over multiple movies."

The announcement came even as Bryan Singer made the surprise revelation that X-Men: Apocalypse is planned for May 2016.

In addition to his Fox projects, Kinberg is serving as an executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and on Neill Blomkampf's next film Chappie.
