Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills will stave off the Apocalypse for another season of "Sleepy Hollow."

Fox has renewed the supernatural drama for an 18-episode third season, announcing that Clifton Campbell ("The Glades," "White Collar") will replace the departing Mark Goffman as showrunner.

Although "Sleepy Hollow" has experienced a sharp decline in ratings from its first season, renewal had been deemed likely.

The series stars Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, a soldier and spy for George Washington who's resurrected in modern times, where he teams with a police lieutenant (Nicole Beharie) to save Sleepy Hollow, and the world, from supernatural forces. Season 2 ended last month with Crane making the decision to kill his wife Katrina (Katia Winter) to ensure a decisive victory over evil.
