The LEGO Ideas web portal has long been the bedrock of community-devised LEGO sets. Now, one inventive LEGO builder has taken on Bedrock itself, fashioning a set based on the home, characters and vehicles from the classic animated television show "The Flintstones."

The proposed set, designed by user Bortos, includes Fred, Wilma and Pebbles Flintstone, as well as their next-door neighbors Barney, Betty and Bamm-Bamm Rubble. The iconic Flintstone household is included, too, along with a fully modeled interior featuring a kitchen, stone chair and a "real stone-age music player." And, of course, no Flintstones LEGO set would be complete without Fred's foot-powered car.

LEGO Ideas is the company's official web portal for user submitted LEGO sets. The sets are first submitted by amateur builders and then have a set amount of time to accrue votes from the community. The amount of time a set is given to gain support is extended as more users express interest in the project. A set is reviewed by the LEGO company once it has amassed over 10,000 votes, and may go on to see mainstream release.

Proposed sets that have gone on to hit store shelves include an "Adventure Time" character set, the Beatles' yellow submarine and a miniature WALL-E. Bortos' Flintstones set has already received roughly 3,733 votes from the LEGO community, with a little over 520 days left to reach its 10,000-vote goal.
