Fox Searchlight has a treat for horror fans on the horizon with the upcoming film, Antlers, a story about a young boy in a small town, a teacher and a few twisted monsters. Just over a year after it was first announced, the first teaser has dropped.

The clip features a series of dark and eerie shots played against Lucas Weaver's telling of a story of a family of bears. "Once there were three bears that lived in a dark and wet cave," he begins. "Everyday, Little Bear went to school and every night he would come home and eat dinner," Weaver adds as the music quietens. "But one day Little Bear came home and Big Bear and Baby Bear were different." The teaser then flashes a monstrous creature after another as Weaver finishes his story, "Big Bear got sick and his insides turned black. Big Bear has become more angrier and meaner, because they had no food. No meat. But they had each other."

The monsters are never entirely visible, but they don't need to be. The teaser showcases the tone of the film and the tension audiences can expect from a story whose official description reads, "a small-town Oregon teacher and her brother, the local sheriff, discover that a young student is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences."

Directed by Scott Cooper and produced by Guillermo Del Toro, David Goyer and J. Miles Dale, Antlers stars Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, JT Corbitt, Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan. The film is set to be released in 2020.
