USA Today has the first look at completed footage from Transformers: Prime, the CGI-animated series debuting Nov. 26 on The Hub, the new Discovery/Hasbro kids’ channel. A test sequence was screened in July at Comic-Con International.
The cartoon centers on Team Prime — Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Arcee, Ratchet and Bulkhead, among them — who must prepare for an epic battle with Megatron and the Decepticons while guarding over Jack, Miko and Raf, three children who accidentally discovered the Autobots.
“The classic clash between the Autobots and Decepticons remains true to the central story, so for fans who grew up with it, the studio has really attempted to take the best of the legacy and marry that with a new fresh look and new fresh stories,” Hasbro Studios President Stephen Davis tells USA Today.
Peter Cullen and Frank Welker reprise their roles as the voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci, who wrote the first two live-action Transformers films, serve as executive producers.
Transformers: Prime premieres on Nov. 26 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT on The Hub.
