Fox and director Bryan Singer this morning unveiled the first look at Kodi Smit-McPhee as a young Nightcrawler in "X-Men: Apocalypse."

At just six seconds, the video certainly deserves a "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" label, as the star of "Let Me In" appears in a puff of smoke, only to disappear just as quickly. Comic purists may be a little disappointed, as there's no "Bamf!" sound effect; more of a "Woosh," really. However, Smit-McPhee certainly looks the part of Kurt Wagner.

Set in the 1980s, "X-Men: Apocalypse" introduces younger versions of some of the mutants introduced in Fox's original "X-Men" trilogy, with Smit-McPhee joined by Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey and Alexandra Shipp as Storm.

Opening May 27, 2016, "X-Men: Apocalypse" stars Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till and Oscar Isaac.
