First Look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt in ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly reveals the first look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the gambler Johnny in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. There are also shots of Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke, who reprise their roles as Nancy and Marv from the 2005 film.

Announced more than a year ago, Gordon-Levitt’s character as “a cocky gambler who disguises a darker mission to destroy his most foul enemy at his best game.” His role is “completely new and fresh,” Miller told EW.

Opening Aug. 22, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For weaves together the second volume of Miller’s acclaimed Dark Horse crime series and the short story “Just Another Saturday Night” with new tales, including one called “The Long, Bad Night.” The screenplay was written by Oscar winner William Monahan (The Departed).
