Entertainment Weekly has unveiled the first photo of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. The actor, known for his roles in "The Social Network" and "Now You See Me," will play the iconic Superman foe in Zack Snyder's 2016 team-up movie, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The photo, a striking black and white closeup of the actor and his shaved head, may also include a clue about the manipulative mastermind's whereabouts in the film; it looks like Luthor is sporting a prison jumpsuit in the photo, but that could just be a style choice made for the debut shot. After all, this is obviously not a still from "Batman V Superman."

Zack Snyder offered up a few words about Eisenberg's portrayal of the classic villain in the photo's reveal. "He's not any of the Lexes that you've seen, that's for sure," said Snyder, "other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course... Our Lex is disarming and he's not fake. He says what he believes and he says what's on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it's all there."

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens on March 25, 2016.
