FX has revealed the first official look at the cast of American Horror Story: Freak Show, the upcoming fourth season of the acclaimed anthology series.

As revealed earlier, this season is set in 1952 in Jupiter, Florida, and, as the title suggests, centers on a circus side show. The Hollywood Reporter fleshed out the premise, it's a "'troupe of curiosities' that arrives at the same time that a dark entity emerges, threatening the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike."

Jessica Lange, who won an Emmy just this week for her role in last season's Coven, stars as Elsa Mars, the German manager of one of the few remaining freak shows in the United States. She's joined by fellow Emmy winner Kathy Bates as Effil Darling; Michael Chiklis as Wendell Del Toro; Sarah Paulson as conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler; Evan Peters as Jimmy Darling; Angela Bassett as Desiree Dupree; and Emma Roberts and Maggie. Frances Conroy and Gabourey Sidibe will also return.

Newcomers include John Carroll Lynch, Patti LaBelle, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock and Jyoti Amge. Matt Bomer will guest star in one episode.American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres Oct. 8 on FX.
