After getting the go ahead back in 2014, he film adaptation of Mark Millar and Leinil Yu's series "Superior" is still on track. Variety has learned that screenwriters Brandon Murphy and Phillip Murphy have ben hired by Fox to provide the screenplay for the film, which is based on Millar and Yu's creator-owned series.

"Superior" will be produced by Tarquin Pack and "Kick-Ass" and "Kingsman" director Matthew Vaughn. The film was picked up by 20th Century Fox back in 2014. Originally published by Marvel's Icon imprint from 2010 and 2012, the seven-issue series tells the story of a 12-year-old boy named Simon who, after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, gets a wish from an alien monkey to become his favorite superhero -- Superior. The alien monkey then reveals itself to be a demon, meaning Simon sold his soul to get his powers.

This is the latest in a long line of Mark Millar projects to either hit the big screen or receive attention from Hollywood. "Wanted," "Kick-Ass," "Kick-Ass 2" and "Kingsman: The Secret Service" were all based on his comic book work, and feature films of "Nemesis," "Chrononauts" and "Huck" are on the way.
