Fox Searchlight has scheduled the film adaptaion of Daniel Clowes' graphic novel "Wilson" for March 3, 2017. The film is directed by Craig Johnson ("The Skeleton Twins") and stars Woody Harrelson, Laura Dern, and Judy Greer.

Clowes has written the screenplay for the film based on characters from his graphic novel. Harrelson plays the title character, a lonely, neurotic and honest middle-aged misanthrope. During the film, Wilson will discover Claire ("Spider-Man: Homecoming's" Isabella Amara) the daughter he never knew he had. Claire's mother is played by Laura Dern, who after telling Wilson about her existence, inspires Wilson to reconnect with her.

Clowes' graphic novel "Wilson" was first published by Drawn and Quarterly in 2010. This is Clowes' third foray into film adaptation, as "Ghostworld" and "Art School Confidential" have already been adapted for the big screen.

"Wilson" will open in theaters on March 3, 2017.
