Official Press Release

The popular online comic strip FEAST OF THE SEVEN FISHES has been collected in a hardcover book available for pre-order in the July 2005 issue of PREVIEWS. The strip, best described as MY BIG FAT ITALIAN CHRISTMAS EVE DRINKING PARTY, was created by Robert (THE BLACK FOREST) Tinnell and was drawn first by Ed (AMERICAN SPLENDOR) Piskor and then Alex (WEB OF THE SPIDER-MAN) Saviuk.

"I'm still amazed at how large and passionate an audience FEAST built," said Tinnell. "When the time came to put the book together I decided to try and reward that audience. So in addition to the complete story arc (which takes place around Christmas Eve 1983) I wrote a "behind-the-scenes" essay that details in word and picture how the story was "born" and gives an insight into the people and places and events the strip was inspired by. What's more, we thought it might be fun to include a cookbook section - so folks can try their hand at staging their own Feast. As far as Shannon (cookbook author/editor Shannon Tinnell) are aware, no one has ever actually created a Feast of the Seven Fishes cookbook - which we think ups the coolness factor." The Christmas Eve feast is an age-old Italian tradition that is obviously heavy on seafood.

"We've been blessed from day one on FEAST OF THE SEVEN FISHES, beyond the dedicated readership. Diamond Comics Distribution president/CEO Steve Geppi contributed the book's introduction and Stan Lee himself contributed an enthusiastic blurb for the back cover," Tinnell added.

FEAST OF THE SEVEN FISHES (JUL05 3424, hardcover, 96 pages, b&w, $12.95) is being published by the Allegheny Image Factory and can be found on page 392 of the current PREVIEWS. For more info visit www.feastofthesevenfishes.com.
